ABOUT ME

For many years I worked with horses in the UK, Europe and South America and since childhood have longed to depict them in art.

I am self-taught and despite having enjoyed intermittent periods of painting in various media over the years it is only recently that I have discovered the excitement and challenge of creating detailed tonal drawings of the horse. Having worked with them it is natural for me to be able to understand and portray their character, movement and impulsion. Indeed, I can ‘feel’ the horses as I draw.

My work has been exhibited locally and in the Mall Galleries, London.

In recent years I have enjoyed riding expeditions, particularly in Argentina and Chile, which have inspired some of the pieces in this portfolio.

The rural nature of the equestrian world has led me along other paths and so my repertoire has expanded to include rural subjects in other media.

I also enjoy working on portraits, especially children and pets, and trompe l'oeil murals.

Most of my work is commissioned but quality, signed, mounted prints of varying sizes are always available with prices from £25.00.

In addition to my drawings I've discovered the exciting world of self-publishing and have produced a 40 pp. full colour book of my art work, 'The Art of Wendy Fraser', and another on the history of my village on the east Kent coast, 'St Margaret's at Cliffe and St Margaret's Bay, also 40pp full colour. Both books are available to preview and purchase from Blurb.
